Scoping Summary Report
The public scoping process for preparation of the Environmental Impact Statement for the Tappan Zee Bridge/I-287 Corridor Project has come to a close with release of the Scoping Summary Report, May 2009 (PDF, 9.8 MB). This report summarizes the process that the Project Sponsors and Federal Partners have followed in developing the alternatives and analysis methodologies to be used in preparation of the DEIS, as well as the public and agency comments that have been received regarding the scope of the DEIS. The Scoping Summary Report incorporates three other reports by reference:
- Scoping Comments Report, May 2009 – This report summarizes all of the comments that were received at the 2003 Scoping Meetings, the February 2008 Scoping Update Meetings, and the October 2008 Public Information Meetings and the associated comment periods. The report also includes the responses to the comments received.
- Transit Mode Selection Report, May 2009 – This report presents the analyses that led to the recommendation for the transit mode(s) for the project, which is full-corridor BRT from Suffern to Port Chester and CRT from Suffern to a direct connection with the Hudson Line for service to Grand Central Terminal.
- Alternatives Analysis for Rehabilitation and Replacement of the Tappan Zee Bridge, March 2009 – This report presents the analyses that led to the recommendation that the Tappan Zee Bridge be replaced.
