The Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) phase of the Tappan Zee Bridge/I-287 Corridor Project is in full progress. The Project Team has continued its detailed analysis of the environmental impact of the bridge, transit and highway improvements under consideration as part of the environmental review process.
The team has made tremendous progress in documenting its findings along the way, which will be helpful to the public in understanding the range of environmental issues, benefits and trade-offs associated with the various alternatives.
The document will discuss the different studies conducted, including air quality, noise, Hudson River ecology, visual resources/aesthetics, as well as socio-economic impact, among other factors such as methodology. The DEIS will reflect the input of various local, state and federal agencies, as well as residents, commuters, organizations and other stakeholders.
The team anticipates releasing the DEIS in the coming months after preliminary federal review, at which time, members of the public will have the opportunity to comment on the document.
